Superflex

Superflex© and the Social Thinking Curriculum

Here at Jefferson, we use the Social Thinking Curriculum, as well as other tools to teach children about social pragmatics.    Superflex is the hero who shows us how to solve problems using our flexible brain power.  He works to defeat the unthinkable characters that invade our brains.  Below is Superflex and some of the many villains.

Rock Brain makes people get stuck on their ideas.

Glassman makes people have huge upset reactions.
D.O.F. (Destroyer of Fun) makes people overly competitive.
Mean Jean gets people to act mean and bossy.
One Sided Sid gets people to talk only about themselves
Energy Hare-y gives people too much energy.

Space Invader gets people to invade others' personal space.

Braineater distracts people.

WasFunnyOnce gets people to use humor at the wrong time, the wrong place, or with the wrong people.

BodySnatcher moves people's bodies from the group.

Grump Grumpaniny puts people in a grumpy mood.

Un-Wonderer doesn't like people to socially wonder about others.

Worry Wall makes people worry too much.

Topic Twistermeister makes people jump off topic.

Story Grammar Markers

Some of our groups have been using Story Grammar Markers to assist with our comprehension and ability to retell a story.  We have created our own "Braidy" tools and use the iPad app in our groups.  Here is one of our "Braidys"
